IN THE CARE OF
The Fortin Group
Florida- Pauline Bilodeau, beloved wife, mother of four, grandmother, great grandmother and
cherished relative, passed away on January 15th, 2023 at the age of 85.
Daughter to Etienne and Yvonne Desjardins, Pauline graduated from Lewiston High School.
She married Julien Bilodeau in 1960, raised four children in a little brick house in Auburn and
enjoyed 62 years of marriage together. After retiring, Jules and Pauline lived in Florida during
the winter months and came “home” to Maine for the rest of year.
Before having children, she worked as a florist and a librarian. Flowers and books continued to
be passions throughout her life. Her homes had incredible flower gardens. She created
beautiful floral arrangements for services at Sacred Heart Church where she and Julien were
parishioners for many years. Pauline took great pleasure in a good read: history and historical
fiction being favorite genres.
Pauline worked for Auburn elementary schools doing secretarial and office work while her
children attended school.
As one friend put it, Pauline was pure love. She was kind and generous and radiated warmth
with her beautiful smile and twinkling eyes. Pauline was devoted to her family. She loved family
gatherings and spending time with her loved ones.
Pauline is survived by her husband, Julien; her four children, Michael Bilodeau and his wife
Mary, Phil Bilodeau and Deb Arthur, Dana Bilodeau and his wife Judy, Louise Bilodeau and
Michael Bomser; 7 grandchildren, David, Brian, Jay, Samantha, Julie, Ella and Cecily; great
grandchildren, Claire and Charlie; goddaughter Denise Soucy; two sister-in-laws, Yolande Roy
and Laurette Bilodeau; and many dear nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, Etienne and Yvonne Desjardins; siblings, Albert Desjardins
and wife Cheryl, Leo Desjardins and wife Lilliette and Leona Desjardins; in-laws, Gerald
Bilodeau, Norm Roy, Roland and Giselle Durocher and Claudette Bilodeau.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
For those who desire, consider donating a book to your local library in her memory or planting
flowers in your garden or a community garden. Pauline especially loved daisies and lilies.
