Pierrette Lucienne Bourgoin

LEWISTON- Pierrette Lucienne (Ruel) Bourgoin, 88, of Lewiston, ME went home to God on Saturday, October 3, 2026 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Lewiston on April 22, 1938 to William and Lucienne (Labrecque) Ruel. She attended school in Lewiston before beginning her career in the shoe industry. She worked for Clark Shoe for many years and then for Knapp Shoe until 1987. In 1987, she started at Bates College and remained with Bates until her retirement in 2001.

On May 17, 1958, she married the love of her life, Richard J. Bourgoin at the Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul in Lewiston. After marriage, Pierrette and Richard began attending mass at Holy Family church and remained parishioners for the remainder of their time on earth. They had an amazing 61 years of marriage before Richard’s passing in 2019.

Pierrette enjoyed her trips to Aruba with Richard, which they did for many years before retirement. Following retirement, she spent many years caring for her grandchildren and spoiling them like Memere’s do. She could often be found in the stands cheering on her grandchildren at their sports games. She was an avid Boston Bruins fan, often yelling at the TV when they were not playing well. She began rooting for the Florida Panthers only because the Bruins traded her favorite player, Marchand. She enjoyed Sunday dinners with her family and watching the New England Patriots.

Family was the pillar of her life and she instilled that in her greatest treasures, her sons and their families. There are no words to express the profound loss we are all feeling. She led by example and her family followed suit by always telling, showing, and giving love with our whole heart.

She is survived by her two sons, Raymond Bourgoin and his wife, Val Tardif; Donald Bourgoin and his wife, Wendie; 5 grandchildren, Derek and his partner, Mary Yenco; Craig Bourgoin; Melissa Morin and her husband, Cody; Dominic and his girlfriend Emily Freese; Paige Bourgoin and her boyfriend, Jacob Crespo; 3 great-grandchildren, Kade & Delilah Bourgoin; Mac Morin; a very special niece, Diane Stevens and her husband, Randy and their children, Naomi Bauer & Candice Wheeler; 2 bonus grandchildren, Ross Tardif; Natasha Turcotte and her wife, Heather; 1 bonus great-grandchild, Harrison Turcotte.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Richard; brother, Real Ruel; grandson, Adam Bourgoin.

A Funeral Mass honoring Pierrette's life will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church. Committal Services will then follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12, 2026 from 1-4 PM at The Fortin & Pinette Group, 305 Alfred A.
