

Raymond G. D’Amour, 86, passed away Saturday February 26, 2011 at Androscoggin Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 20, 1925 in Lewiston a son of the late Charles and Antoinette (Robitaille) D’Amour. Raymond graduated from St. Peter’s school in 1939. He went into the army and served 3 years in the South Pacific in WW II. He was awarded his high school diploma after his return. He later attended CMVTI where he took management classes and graduated in 1972. Raymond worked for Bates Fabrics & Minette Mills, where he retired after 50 years as a textile designer. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Georgette (Pelletier) D’Amour of Lisbon, his three sons: Gerard D’Amour and his wife Barbara of Greene, Marc D’Amour and his wife Anne of Lewiston, and Peter D’Amour and his companion Corinne Briggs of Gray; grandchildren: Lindsey D’Amour, Kelly Dawson, Jessica D’Amour all of North Carolina, Joshua D’Amour of Lewiston, Andrew D’Amour of South Portland. Raymond was predeceased by his brother Paul D’Amour in 2000 and his sister Charlotte at a young age.
