He was born on April 5, 1933 in Fort Kent, Maine, the son of Romeo and Anastasie (Deschaine) Hebert. In his younger years he attended schools in Fort Kent. He worked his entire life as an equipment operator and Foreman for Lewiston Crushed Stone Concrete and Construction Co. Upon his retirement he then worked a few years for Maine Source Modular Homes. He was a longtime member of St. Joseph's Church. On April 5, 1975, on his birthday, he married Rita (Toni) Toothaker. He loved to reminisce about his fishing and camping adventures and the many memories that were made with his family and friends, always making sure to tell about the "Big One" that got away. Ice Out at Lake Auburn was always the highlight of Spring and he would always be checking the lake weeks before. All will remember him with a cigar in his mouth, his signature! He loved to cook and was always making a delicious new dish. Raymond lived the past few years at Bates Senior Complex, where he was extremely happy and made numerous friends, always excited to join in the Wii bowling games every evening. He is survived by his son, Donald R. Hebert and three daughters: Patricia A. Sturgis and husband Walter, Cindy L. Nelson and husband Richard (Bud), and Brenda L. Hebert. His grandchildren: Aaron, Conner, Avera, Michael, ieshia, Kathryn, Jonathan, Eric, Amy and Michael. His great grandchildren: Bradley and Gabe and very special friend Monique Nadeau.
