

Auburn - Raymond J.B. Michaud passed away on September 19 with his family at his side after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Brunswick, the son of Eugene and Carmella (Normand) Michaud. Ray graduated from Edward Little High School in 1951, joined the United States Air Force and served 8 years stateside during the Korean conflict as a Staff Sargent. He married Jacqueline Beaudoin in 1953 and raised his 3 children. Jacqueline passed away in 1997. During his 40+ year career, he worked in electronic communications. He enjoyed amateur radio and aviation as a private pilot. Ray was an active member of Prince of Peace Parish as a lector, Eucharistic minister, and Sacristan. He was a professed member of the Secular Franciscan Order since 1961 and was instrumental in activating the St. Francis of Assisi Fraternity in Lewiston, Maine. In 1999, he married the former Louise Marcoux and enjoyed 16 years of adventures as they lived faith together. He was a member of the American Legion Lewiston Post 22. Ray is survived by his wife, Louise, his three children, Diane Michaud of Lewiston, Raymond A. Michaud of Lewiston, Paul L. Michaud, his wife Ann, and granddaughters Rebecca and Elizabeth of Lewiston, his stepchildren Audrey Machowski and her husband James of Wales, and Nathan Marcoux of Lewiston, his brother Maurice and his wife Harriet of Littleton, New Hampshire, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Jacqueline, his sister Jeanne Springer, and his parents. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses, aides, caregivers and volunteers from Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice and The Hospice House for the exceptional care provided to Ray during his battle with cancer.
