

AUBURN - Raymond P. Pinette, 73, a resident of 4 Reservoir Ave., Lewiston and winter resident of St. Petersburg, FL., died Friday morning at the Hospice House after a long illness with his loving family by his side. He was born in Lewiston, August 27, 1935, the son of Napoleon and Marianne (Ouellette) Pinette. Ray was a 1954 graduate of St. Dominic's High School, then attended the New England Institute of Anatomy in Boston as well as the former St. Francis College in Biddeford. Following schooling he joined his family as co-owner of Pinette Funeral Home in Lewiston until 1968 where he then founded Bargain Ad now known as PenMor Lithographers where he retired in 1995. He was also a member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Ray was an avid musician and the leader of various bands such as Starlighters, Touch of Class, Heritage Band, Ray Pinette's Big Band, and the Dixieland Band. He was also very active in his community as a member of the 1954 St. Dom's Class Reunion Committee, the St. Dom's Alumni and Educational Fund, the St. Petersburg Florida Country Club, Lewiston Elks Lodge, Horizon 55, Covenant 50, Association Canado Americain, American Legion Post #153, and a former member of the Lewiston Development Corporation as a member of the board of directors, and was also a past president of the Maine Funeral Directors Association. His hobbies included music, golf, and pool. Survivors include his wife the former Claire St. Pierre whom he married September 5, 1955 of Lewiston and St. Petersburg, FL; one son, Paul Pinette and his fiancée, Jacqueline Dyer of Turner; three daughters, Ann Jagger and husband, Graham of North Carolina, Laurie Ouellette and husband, Louis of Wales, and Maureen Aube and husband, Mike of Auburn; one sister, Laurette Duprez of Lewiston. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Stephanie (Ouellette) Pelkey and husband, Randy, Derek Ouellette, Bryan Jagger, Lindsey (Jagger) LeMaster and husband, Tim; Vanessa (Jagger) Baram and husband, Kyle; Aaron Pinette and wife Chelsea; and Shawn Pinette. 5 great grandchildren, Justice, Quentin, Alexis, Zoe, and Piper. He was predeceased by one sister, Rita Croteau, and one brother, Raoul Pinette. Special thanks to Ray's primary care physician, Dr. Betty Kennedy, Mrs. Roy, Michelle, Karen and Michelle from Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice as well as Dr. Roger Austin, Donna, Carol, Nina, and the entire staff at the Hospice House in Auburn. PINETTE died in Auburn, November 14, 2008, Mr. Raymond P. Pinette age 73 years a resident of Lewiston and St. Petersburg, FL. A Mass of Christian burial honoring Ray's life will be celebrated MONDAY 11:00AM at Holy Cross Church. Committal prayers to be followed by military honors at St. Peter's Cemetery.
