

He was born on 8/22/1930 in St. Felix-de-Kingsey, Quebec, Canada. The son of Alexander and Hermina (Gregoire) Verville. Raymond married Ida (Legault) Verville in 1952. He moved to Lewiston from Cornwall, Ontario Canada with his wife and their young family in 1959. He began his working career in Maine at the cotton mills then at U.S. Gypsum and for many years at General Electric where he retired in 1994 to care for his ailing wife until her death in June of that year.
Ray enjoyed going to casinos and being with his 2nd wife Beatrice (Bell) Verville whom he married in 1997. Ray is a former 4th Degree with the Knights of Columbus and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved working in his extensive wood-working shop, crafting pieces and creating memories for his family and friends. Ray was an avid Montreal Canadien’s hockey fan and will always be remembered for his quick wit, humor and gentle nature. There was nothing he enjoyed more than making the family laugh.
He is survived by his sister Irene Bergeron of Lewiston Maine, sister Nicole Sabourin of St. Thomas, Ontario Canada and brother Harvey Verville of Cornwall, Ontario, Canada. Children, Ronald Verville and wife Lorna (St. Amand), Diane Bognot and husband Victor, Claude Verville and wife Sheri (Parquette) and Joanne Blouin. Ten grandchildren, Erik Verville, Evan Verville and wife Jamie, Ian Verville and wife Lindsay, Shane Verville and wife Ashley, Christina (Bognot) Coyle and husband John, Dennis Bognot and wife Samantha, Victoria (Bognot) Armstrong and husband Shea, Dale Blouin, Evangaline Blouin and Sara Blouin Eleven great-grandchildren, Mya Verville, Trevor Stockard, Skylar Verville, Jack and Maxwell Verville, John IV and Cecilia Coyle, Evelyn and Ezra Blouin, Emma and Victor Bognot and three more coming in 2017.
He is also survived by his step children Joann (Breton) Darling and husband Ronald, Pauline (Breton) Dionne and husband Richard, Diane Bell and wife Cynthia Sammis, Claire (Bell) Schmoll and husband Derek, and a son, James Bell and wife Patricia and several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Ray was predeceased by his first wife, Ida (Legault) Verville who passed away June 12, 1994 and very recently by his second wife, Beatrice (Bell) Verville on November 20, 2016. He is also predeceased by two sisters, Gisele Kennedy and Theresa Bergeron and two brothers, Clemente and Ronald.

Verville- Died in Auburn on Wednesday December 7, 2016. Mr. Raymond G. age 86 a resident of Lewiston. A Funeral Mass honoring Raymond’s life will be celebrated on Thursday, December 15th, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Church. Committal services will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
