Regina Ann Roy

Regina is fondly remembered by her family and friends as a devoted and loving mother, wife, and friend. Her sweetness and general friendliness endeared her to all who knew her. Indeed, it would surely be difficult to describe her without using the word "sweet".

Regina was born on December 21, 1946 in Lewiston, ME; the second daughter of Louis and Marie Rose (Levesque) Valcourt. She grew up in Lewiston and attended Lewiston High School, graduating in 1964. She graduated with an associates degree in Secretarial Studies from Bliss College in Lewiston in 1967.

Regina married Laurier (Larry) Roy on May 19, 1973. As a young couple, they bought a house in Plaistow, NH where they raised their two sons, William and Steven Roy. She put all of her heart into making a home for her family. Dinnertime was always a family affair, and Regina's cooking included a vast array of immaculately prepared meals. Among her greatest hits were her traditional French-Canadian meat pies (tourtiere), homemade whoopee pies, roasted chicken dinners, and her legendary spaghetti sauce. As a family, the Roys enjoyed many wonderful family vacations and trips; their yearly camping trips to Pawtuckaway State Park were especially memorable.

In addition to raising a family, Regina also worked part-time at numerous secretarial jobs in Plaistow, NH, and was also a member of the Plaistow gardening club.

Regina and Larry later moved to Orr's Island, ME in 2001. Regina was an active member of the Harpswell Community Theater, where she performed featured roles in numerous plays and made many friends in the community.

Regina was a devout Catholic and a member of Saints Peter & Paul Parish in Lewiston, ME, Holy Angels Parish in Plaistow, NH, and St. Katharine Drexel Church in Harpswell.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 53 years, Laurier Roy, her son William A. Roy and his wife Alyson, her son Steven A. Roy and his wife Whitney, and her grandchildren Camdyn Roy, Jakob Roy, and Emmersyn Roy.Regina is predeceased by her sister Pauline (Valcourt) Dubois.
