

LEWISTON- Richard A. Gagne, 65, of 234 Pleasant Street Lewiston died Wednesday July 18, 2007 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center following a long illness. He fought the good fight and never gave up. He was born in Lewiston on December 19, 1941 the son of Andrew and Eliane (Bolduc) Gagne and had been a resident of this community all of his life.He was a graduate of Holy Cross Parochial School and of Lewiston High School Class of 1959. He was employed at Lewiston Lumber Company for twenty-nine years until it closed and then with the Lewiston School Department as a custodian. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and also of the Fourth Degree Council #106. He loved to work with wood, making gifts for his family, hunt and travel to the Caribbean. Richard will be sadly missed by all his family and friends and his cat Blizzard. He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, the former Jeannine S. Ouellette whom he married on October 15, 1960 of Lewiston; four sons Gerry Gagne and his wife Laura of Lakeland, Fl., Mark Gagne and his wife Christine of Wales, Norman Gagne and his wife Kathy of Monmouth and Steve Gagne and his companion Peter Pope of Auburn; ten grandchildren Jenny, Nichole, Christopher Gagne, Daniel Heath, Jessica Gagne, Jeremie Lemay, Melissa Gagne, Elycia Gagne and John Caron, Jake Gagne; three great grandchildren Jacob and Aiden Heath and Natalee Lemay; one brother, Brother Joseph Robert Gagne OMI; one sister Madeleine Dionne; a brother and sister-in-law Normand and Lucy Bisson.He was predeceased by his parents; one brother Lionel Gagne and one sister Carmen Gagne. The family would like to thank Dr. Cynthia DeSoi, Dr. Paul Mailhot, Dr. Juergen Bertram, the Staff of St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, CMMC and the Lewiston Kidney Center for the excellent care they gave Richard over the years. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
