

Lewiston - Richard A. Hamel 68 of Auburn died Tuesday May 12 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center with his family by his side. Born in Lewiston July 28, 1946 a son of Robert & Cecile Comeau Hamel he graduated from Lewiston High School in the Class of 1964 . He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Cross Church and worked as a truck driver for over 35 years retiring due to his illness 2005. He enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Bruins and playing cards. Dick was forever grateful for the gift of life of two lungs he received in 2008. He is survived by his son Brent Hamel and companion Tanya Belanger of Lewiston, grandchildren Kayla & Andrea Hamel, his sisters, Pauline Roux of Saco, Denise Arsenault and husband Roger of Clinton, MA, his brothers, Normand Hamel and wife Jacqueline of Lewiston, Paul Hamel and wife Tracy of Colorado Spring, CO.
