

LEWISTON- Richard A. Stukas, “Dick,” 75, passed away on July 4, 2026, at the Andwell Hospice House, with his loving family at his side. He was born in Lewiston on August 7, 1950, to the late Anthony John Jr, and Advena Velma (Smith) Stukas.
Dick graduated from Lewiston High School and went on to trade school to become an electrician, working his way up to a master electrician. While he spent most of his career as an electrician and General Electric employee, Dick took pride in taking care of his family farm, Stukas Farms. Dick was involved in farming his whole life; Stukas Farms started as a dairy and chicken farm, transitioning into vegetable growing and Apple Orchards. Dick took great pride in making cider with the apples he grew on Stukas Farms.
He met his wife, Susan Ruth Kamps, and married on July 9, 1983. They built a wonderful life together and shared 42 years of marriage.
In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors and seeing all that Maine had to offer. Dick was an avid hunter and fisherman, who loved boating, snowmobiling, and farming. Dick cherished spending time with his wife and children.
Dick is survived by his wife Susan, children Thomas and Heather, his sister Nancy, and beloved pet Stormy.
In addition to his parents, Dick is predeceased by his brother, William.
Dick's visitation will be held on Wednesday July 15 from 10AM-1PM with a funeral service beginning at 1PM at The Fortin & Pinette Group, 305 Alfred A Plourde Parkway. Interment will follow immediately after at Mount Hope Cemetery, Lewiston. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children Hospital.
