I worked with Dick for approximately 10 years at RO-LAN Associates. We enjoyed debating we each other..sometimes over trivial things and sometimes serious ones..He loved to sing and with a little prompting would sing along with the radio....We learned much from each other...he was competitive...well read and he had an excellent memory....I have fond memories

Dick was a smart, funny man who made me laugh with his wisecracks. He also had a caring for others' wellbeing in life. I am eternally grateful to him for the uplifting and positive ways he has touched my life in the short time that I knew him. I share my deepest sympathies for Charlotte and her family. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dick and I met at the Church four years ago. The depth of his knowledge and love of his religion was impressive. He was quite inspirational when speaking about the many different aspects of healing. He was a unique individual and committed to his beliefs.I offer my deepest sympathies to his dear mother Charlotte, brother Robert and all other family members and friends.

I had the pleasure of knowing Dick for about 25 years. I met him through friends at the newspaper, after he had worked there. I started my own staffing agency in 1987 and hired Dick to work for me shortly thereafter for about 10 years. During that time, we worked very hard to help me to build a very successful business while remaining a good friend. Dick was a person who knew just about everyone in town, having worked around the public most of his life. He was well-educated, a great conversationalist, and had experience working for the (Lewiston) Maine Career Center (employment office) for several years. He was very involved as the President of the Central Maine Human Resource Association. Through RO-LAN Associates, Inc., he earned his national CPC Certification (Certified Personnel Consultant). Dick was responsible for helping many young people in the area find work while helping them launch their careers. He also worked very well with the more mature clients and was very effective in counseling them, devoting much time in seeing them through difficult times. Dick had an incredible thirst for learning, no matter what the subject. He served as an excellent resource in helping individuals of all ages and varying career levels. In all the 10 years Dick worked for me, he never took a sick day or stayed home due to inclement weather. He was 100% devoted to what he did and was a very good friend to me and to many others. Dick was a very unique individual, a hard worker, and a person who was an excellent judge of character. He had an unusual ability to see things in people that no one else could, which made him very effective and successful in understanding people. Dick was an "no nonsense" type of person and his ways of relaxing were reading. Through the years, Dick also was active in many professional organizations as well as many self-improvement and wellness. As a person who loved children, he was also very faithful in feeding the numerous ducks that congregated at our Main Street (Auburn) location on the riverbank -- prior to moving to Sabattus Street in Lewiston. He will be missed by all who knew him.

I've had the pleasure of knowing Dick for 7 years through Church, classes and get togethers. I found him to be an extremely intelligent man with an interest in a variety of subjects. He loved to talk to people & had a knack of making you feel very important. He especially loved children, never failing to ask about our kids & remembering all the little details of their lives that he'd been told in the past. I'll miss him, but know i'll be "talking" with him soon. My thoughts & prayers are with Dick as he makes this transition & Charlotte and family as they adjust to this new chapter in their lives.

I met Dick at Ro-lan's when I went there for a job search. I took a typing test and he was there coaching me. He was very kind and I appreciated how he made me feel at ease. I now know Rolande quite well and I felt so bad to hear of all that he has endured. My God comfort each of you in your sorrow.

On the wings of an Eagle, Dick was carried home..... Delivered to he higher side of life by the sacred messenger to creator. Bless him and those closest to him. It is of great comfort to know that he will be working on the other side to insure that the proper books are placed in our paths for our greatest growth, that the church that he was so passionate about be placed high on the list of places to visit and assist with as only a true soul can, and most importantly that he watch over the people that he holds closest in his heart.Prayers for love, healing, and peace are sent your way..... I first met Dick when he became a reporter at The Lewiston Daily Sun. He always had a smile and was ready to get into any kind of discussion. He took pride in what he did, especially when he would scoop the Journal (this was before the merger) on a story. In more recent years, I ran into him at Hannaford's a number of times. He always went out of his way to say hi and asked me what was going on. He was a very caring person. My deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends who will miss him greatly. Perhaps they can take comfort in knowing that he is in a better place and is now pain free.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dick about 20 years ago and also worked with him at RoLan Associates. He was friendly, outgoing and was always interested in helping others. He was so unique in many ways. A lovable guy! Rest in peace my friend.

Dick was able to engage people of all ages and beliefs in discussion. You always felt that he was genuinely interested in what you had to say. He had a good memory and would remind you of things you'd shared with him long after you'd forgotten them yourself. I especially appreciated the way he always welcomed my children whenever they'd accompany me to church. He will be missed.
