Rita G. Marcoux

She was born in Lewiston, Maine on January 25, 1927 the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Grenier where she resided and attended schools in Litchfield.

She had married Wilfred T. Marcoux on April 30, 1949; He died on August 14, 2006. They were married for 57 years.

Rita enjoyed knitting and doing word search. She loved her cats and enjoyed listening to country music.

Rita is survived by her brother Raymond Danforth of San Antonio, Texas; her nieces Debra Danforth of Chelsea, Maine, Brenda Bartlett of Brownville, Maine, Karen Kostenbader of Newcastle, Maine, Sandra Harms of San Antonio, Texas and Claudette Lynch of Lewiston, Maine; her nephews Richard W. St. Pierre and his wife Donna of Lyn, Massachusetts, Reginald G. St. Pierre of Westbrook, Maine, Roland Chabot of Florida and Dona R. St. Pierre and his wife Susan of Portland, Maine.

Besides her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings Arlene LaChance, Lawrence Danforth, Lilian Petrie, Madeline Dodge and Diane Danforth.

The family wishes to thank the Doctors, Nurses and the staff at Russell Park Rehabilitation and Living Center for all the assistance that they provided to Rita.

Funeral Services honoring Rita's life will be celebrated on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM at The Fortin & Pinette Group in Lewiston. Committal Services will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Mt. Vernon Road in Augusta. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026 from 9-11 AM prior to the services at The Fortin & Pinette Group 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway in Lewiston, 784-4023.
