

LEWISTON – Robert C. Colvin, 79, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at his home in Lewiston. He was born in Fort Edward, NY on March 1, 1938, the son of the late Charles and Frances (Pacyna) Colvin. Robert graduated from Queensbury High School, Queensburry, NY in 1956. On August 16, 1958, he married the love of his life, Joan (Samson) and they shared a loving marriage of over 59 years. Robert served as a Chief in the United States Navy, and retired in 1974 after 20 years. Joan and Robert traveled to many different places around the world during his time of service, including Cypress, Rome and Bermuda. After his service, he went on to work for the Department of Human Services as a Medicaid Manager and retired in 1995 after 20 years. Robert was a long time active member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed traveling, watching his grandchildren play sports, reading, crossword puzzles, lunch with the "Guys" and was very active in genealogy. Robert liked watching sports and was a lifelong Yankees and Patriots fan.
Robert is survived by his wife; his three children, Charles and wife Sue Colvin of Gulf Breeze, FL, Keith and wife Margie Colvin of St. Augustine, FL and Jen and Husband Paul Rubin of Lewiston; his brother, William Colvin of South Glenns Falls, NY; his 5 grandchildren, Chelsea Colvin, Elizabeth Colvin, Michael Colvin, Jared Rubin, and Jordyn Rubin, and many special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Sandra Chaino.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Fortin/LEWISTON. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 11am at Holy Family Church in Lewiston. A committal will take place on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 10am at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 163 Mt. Vernon Road in Augusta, Maine.
