

LEWISTON: Robert N. Masse, 63, of Lewiston passed away Thursday October 29, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston following a brave two year battle with cancer with his family by his side. He was born in Lewiston on November 29, 1951 a son of the late Laurier and Lorraine (Boucher) Masse. He grew up in the area and attended local schools. He was a graduate of Lewiston High School, class of 1970. On October 2, 1971 he married Susan Lapointe at Holy Family Church in Lewiston. Early in their marriage, Bob worked for Lapointe’s Lawn and Garden Center and was a tractor trailer driver for Ed Gardner Construction. He also worked for Terry’s Plumbing and Heating and Eastern Energy. Then, in 1985, Bob started, owned and operated Masse Plumbing and Heating until he fell ill in 2013. Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as snowmobiling and throwing horseshoes. He also loved to camp and spend time at the beach. He found great pleasure in fixing various things and helping people fix things and also spending time with his friends and family. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Susan Masse of Lewiston, and the sunshine of his life, his adopted daughter, Alison Laura Casey and her husband Colt of Portland. He also leaves behind his three sisters; Irene Rioux and her husband Robert of Lewiston, Suzanne Masse of Livermore Falls, and Therese Dart and her husband Al of Fairbanks, Alaska as well as his supportive brother, Donald Masse and his wife Cynthia of Bowdoin and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant son, Brian and a brother, Leonard Masse.The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the staffs of both Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice and St. Mary’s Hospital, especially Dr. Pandey as well as Dr.’s Oswald, Sanal, and Kahn.
