

LEWISTON - Robert K. McDonald, 85, formerly of 67 Bridge St., Lewiston died Sunday evening at Central Maine Medical Center with his family by his side following a brief illness.He was born in Lewiston, November 13, 1923, the son of Ray and Irene (Hodgden) McDonald. Robert attended Auburn schools and was a 1941 graduate of Edward Little High School. Following high school, Bob joined the United States Marine Corps serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After the war, he was employed for Wirthmore Feeds in Malden, Massachusetts while attending Northeast University in Boston. Following college he was manager of Paine Incense Company in Lewiston until his retirement in 1989. His hobbies included golf, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.Survivors include two daughters, Linda Cristina and her husband, Scott of Auburn; Diane Thomas and her husband, Kevin of Lewiston; one sister, Peggy Chisholm of North Conway, New Hampshire; one nephew, Robert Chisholm of Montana. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Kate-Lynn and Allysa Thomas as well as Victoria and Kimberly Cristina.Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his devoted and loving wife, the former Irene Beauregard who died March 21, 1998, and his beloved dog and companion, "Dusty."The family wishes to express their graditude to the staff of CMMC's Emergency Room and M1 and to Clover Living Center for the wonderful care given to Bob during these past few years.MCDONALD died in Lewiston, January 25, 2009, Mr. Robert K.
