

AUBURN - Robert G. Theriault, 84, a resident of Foch St., Auburn died Tuesday, July 17th at the Hospice House following a brief illness with family by his side. He was born in St. Quentin, NB, June 29, 1928, the son of Ludger and Anna (Drapeau) Theriault. Robert moved here in 1947 where he met and married the love of his life on October 6, 1951, the former Lucille Bonin. Together they raised their family here in Auburn. He was employed over 25 years as a roofer for Hahnel Brothers until his retirement in 1978. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the New Auburn Social Club, and the VFW Men’s Auxiliary #1603. His hobbies included caring and maintaining his home, as well as his 1971 Chevy Pick-Up. Walking around the neighborhood, and cutting and splitting his own firewood until the age of 83. Survivors include two daughters, Claire Hebert and husband Carlton; and Celine Theriault all of Auburn; four sons, Roger and wife Ginette of Lisbon Falls, Daniel and wife Kellie of Auburn, John of Nampa, Idaho, and Peter and wife Anna of Minot. Two sisters, Lena Martel and Therese Fournier both of Lewiston; two brothers Fred of Lewiston and Fern of Auburn. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, Lucille who died in 2005, he was predeceased by a daughter, Debra Ann in 1988, and a son, Ronald in 2000, as well as five brothers, Albert, Romeo, Aime, Roger, and Wilfred and two sisters, Roseaime Caron and Jacqueline Bonin.
