Roger J. Jalbert

Born September 4, 1921

PLYMOUTH, MA---Roger J. Jalbert died suddenly on March 29, 2018 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth, MA. He was born in Lewiston on September 4, 1921 a son of the late Alphonse and Clemence (Grandmaison) Jalbert. Roger attended St. Peter's School and graduated from Lewiston High School. He worked as a station agent for the Maine Central Railroad. After retiring, he grew Christmas trees at the "Spruce Valley Tree Farm" on Webster St. He enjoyed spending time outside, a good hockey game and traveling throughout Canada. Roger was a devoted family man, a loving husband to Georgette and a wonderful father to Sue. He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne and her husband, Pasquel and their son, Joseph. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Georgette, his brothers: Fr. Paul, Henry, Emile, Adrien, Gerard, John, Edmond and Roland and his sisters, Yvette Doyle and Jeanne Stevens and her son Charlie. A Funeral Mass will be held for Roger and Georgette on Friday April 20, 2018 at the Basilica of Ss.Peter & Paul (upper church) at 11am. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Lewiston. Oh, I have so many happy memories of Frank when he was the station master at Lisbon Falls. We were train crazy kids and spent many hours with him at the station. Some times he would let us pull the levers to change the signals on the station. Very good and kind man, and a good friend to us kids who hung around the tracks. I hope he knew how much he meant to us kids. Lee Huston
