Born in Lewiston on January 15, 1937, he was the son of Desiree and Mary Lou St. Pierre. At the age of 14, Roger met the love of his life, Rachel Guilmette, whom he later married at 20. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised four children.
Roger was a hardworking and respected member of his community. He owned and operated Rogers Mobil and Roger’s Auto Clinic for many years before selling the business and becoming a foreman for the City of Auburn Public Works. He was admired by his staff as a fair but firm leader who valued dedication, patience, and hard work.
A devoted family man, Roger created countless memories with his children and grandchildren. He loved golfing, swimming in the pool, and playing hockey—often sharing the ice with his sons for many years before reluctantly retiring. He was a constant presence at his grandchildren’s sporting events, serving as a role model and a source of laughter, love, and wisdom.
Roger also enjoyed working on cars with his children, always ready with advice or a helping hand. He participated in the Lewiston Paint Golf Tournament and was a longtime member of the Lewiston Paint Golf League. He especially enjoyed family gatherings, where he could often be found tossing horseshoes with his brothers and in-laws, frequently taking every opportunity to outplay the younger generation.
A man of deep faith, Roger was a loyal and active member of Holy Family Church and Prince of Peace Parish, and a proud Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
He will be remembered as a generous, hardworking man with a great sense of humor who never hesitated to share his passionate opinions—especially when it came to the Boston Bruins and the Red Sox.
He is survived by his wife Rachel Guilmette St. Pierre, his children Anne Walker and her partner Tim of Poland; Michael St. Pierre and his wife Rachel of Lewiston; Gary St. Pierre and his wife Lisa of Durham; and Lisa Tiner and her husband Erik of Lewiston.
He also has 11 cherished grandchildren: Jennifer Tucci and her husband Joe; Jamie Walker; Brian St. Pierre and his wife Anna; Emily Bilodeau and her husband Keith; Laura Stefanilo and her husband Andrew, Tony St. Pierre; Gary St. Pierre II and his partner Kianna; Britney Kelly and her husband Steve; Erik Tiner II and his wife Mikaila; Brandon Tiner and his wife Keri; and Jacob Tiner and his fiancée, Sarah Maxim.
Roger was also blessed with 21 great-grandchildren: Tyler (Api) and Tristan Tucci; Courtney Lachapelle; Rebecca Sarkisian; Hailey Masse; Kate, William, and Benjamin St. Pierre; Jack, Mason, and Carson Bilodeau; Noah and Lily Stefanilo; Tucker Gauthier, Mackenzi, Emma, Leland Kelly; Teagan Tiner; Colin, Quinn, and Finley Tiner; and one great-great-grandchild, Asher Tucci.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly and cherished the time they spent with him.
