I first met Roland when I went to work for his father at Lambert's Market.  He and I were responsible for stocking shelves, waiting on people, making food deliveries. picking up paint and hardware to satisfy orders.  We also helped expand the store setting up new shelves and restocking.  I remember the many "New Years" spent taking inventory in the store. I remember times at the cottage swimming and canoeing.  Roland was very generous.  He once loaned me his Ford convertible so I could drive to Portland to see my girlfriend, a nursing student at Maine Medical;  who I married.

My condolences to his wife and the rest of the Lambert family.
