

Lewiston - Romeo O. Toussaint 91, of Webster St. died Tuesday May 6, 2014 at C M M C with his family by his side. Born in Auburn January 3, 1923 a son of the late Ernest and Lydia Labbay Toussaint, and was educated at St. Mary's Parochial School. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was married to the former Jeannine Langlois who died April 15, 2009. Mr.. Toussaint was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at the Basilica of Ss. Peter & Paul where he served as Eucharistic Minister and was also a member of La Ligue du St. Nom de Jesus. He worked as a maintenance mechanic at Gates Form Fiber prior to his retirement in 1985. He enjoyed being with his family, playing cards, bowling, horseshoes and dedicating his life to serve his church, Ss. Peter & Paul. Our dad will be remembered for his warm smile and sense of humor, always willing to help those in need, and dedication to his family. He is survived by his daughters, Suzanne McMackin and husband Paul of St. George ,Denise Desgrosseilliers and husband Gregory of Fredericksburg, VA, 2 sons, Robert Toussaint of Sabattus, Donald and wife Pamela Toussaint of Lewiston, grandchildren, Jared Edwards, Duane Edwards, Jason Toussaint, Amanda Toussaint, Chad Toussaint, Matthew Desgrosseilliers, Emily Desgrosseilliers and seven sisters; Liane Moreau, Priscille Jolicoeur, Mary Jean Lefebvre, Sr. Therese Toussaint, Lorraine Quintal and husband Wilfred, Constance Roy and Doris Saltis and husband Mike. He was predeceased by a sister Madeleine Boulay. The family wishes to thank the medical staff in the single stay and T1 units of CMMC for the compassionate care given to him this past month during his stay.
