

Lewiston: Ronald R. Rouillard, 75, of Lewiston, passed away Saturday night, December 14 at his home. He was born in Augusta, Maine on July 4, 1938, a son of Leo and Lorraine (Lajoie) Rouillard. He grew up in the Augusta area and attended local schools. Ron was a graduate of Cony High School, class of 1956. After graduation, Ron promptly joined the United States Navy and was proud to serve his country. Ron served in the Navy for 6 years, having been honorably discharged in November 1961. Ron's service in the Navy was followed by 20 years of dedicated service in the Maine State National Guard where he achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class. Ron was unable to deploy for Desert Storm due to health reasons, and cried the day he saw his fellow soldiers leave. Ron married Claire Charest on June 27, 1959 at St. Peter's Church in Lewiston. Ron worked in various sales positions, one of the longest being with the D.A.V. for 35 years. Ron was a member of the Shriners, a Kora clown, a Mason, and a proud member of the N.R.A. He cherished the time he spent hunting, fishing, and enjoyed his time at camp. Ron was an avid Bruins and Patriots fan. He loved playing cards, especially Texas Hold 'Em, with his brothers and sisters-in-law. He was most happy spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren (who lovingly referred to him as "Pop Pop"). He will always be remembered for the unconditional love he had for his family. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Claire Roullard of Lewiston, his children, Ronnie Rouillard and wife Paula of Turner, Kevin Rouillard and wife Monique of Lewiston, and Lisa Bell and husband Shawn of Lewiston. He is also survived by his mother, Lorraine Spaulding of Washington State, his brother, Robert, of Washington State, two-half sisters, Sylvia and Sheila as well as six grandchildren: Justin Rouillard and wife Heather, Steven Rouillard, Kayla Rouillard, Jenna Rouillard, Brittany Bell, and Briley Bell. Ron was predeceased by his father, Leo R. Rouillard. Visitation will be held on Friday December 20, 2013 from 10-11am at the funeral home in Lewiston followed by a Liturgy of the Word service that will be celebrated at 11am also at the funeral home. A committal service with military honors will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery following the service.
