

Togus- Rosaire G. Gauthier born on January 7, 1930 passed away peacefully on October 6, 2017 after a long illness. Born in Canada to the Late Alfred and Felixiene (Pacquet) Gauthier. He was a cook for the lumberman at the age of 14. He later joined the Army and served in the Korean Conflict. In 1957 he married Lucia Nadeau and lived in Naugatuck, CT for the next 24 years, before moving to Greene, ME. He spent the majority of that time working as a steel fabricator, helping build sculptures at Segre’s Iron Works for famous artist Alexander Calder. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and making maple syrup. Rosaire was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles since 1959, and served as President and many other titles during that time, and was also a member of the American Legion.
Besides his wife Lucia of 60 years he is survived by, 3 brothers and sisters; Marguerit Panadis and husband Claude, of Odanak, Quebec, Canada, Evelyne Grimmel, of West Paris and Victor Gauthier of Skowhegan, 2 sister in laws; Arlene Gauthier of Minot and Bernice Gauthier of Lewiston, 5 children; Diane Seymour and husband Raymond of Jacksonville, IL, Nancy Gauthier of Biddeford, Shirley Daigle and husband Bob of Lewiston, Sharon Higgins and husband Terry of Kirkland, Ontario and Robert Gauthier of Orlando, FL, a daughter in law, Ute Gauthier of Germany, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents; Alfred and Felixiene, brothers; Marcel, Clement, Gabriel and Claude, sisters; Yolande, Rose and Angie, as well as a daughter Donna Marie and a son Gary.
He will be missed by everyone that knew him.

Gauthier- Died in Togus October 6th. Rosaire G. age 87. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 11th at 11:00AM at Holy Family Church. Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 10th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the Gauthier family prefers Masses in his memory be made and acquired at the Prince of Peace Parish 16 St. Croix Street Lewiston, ME 04240.
