Ruth I. Patterson

NASHUA, N.H.- Ruth Ilene Patterson of Hollis, N.H., died on Friday June 25, 2010. She was born on July 30, 1919 in Auburn, Maine, the daughter of Clyde and Lena Chippendale Davis. She graduated from Edward Little High School in 1937. On October 19, 1938 she married Leslie E. Bickford of Danville, Maine.For many years she and her husband operated "Bick's Service Station" in Danville. She worked at Peck's Department store for many years and later worked as a secretary at Memorial School in New Gloucester. Upon retirement they spent their winters in Zephyrhills, FL..She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Auburn, past member of the Pine Tree Gypsy's Camping Club and the F&G Square Dance Club of Gray. Her interest was camping, painting, sewing and many crafts. Her husband , Leslie E. Bickford died on February 22, 1998. On November 17, 2004 she married Thomas V. Patterson formerly of Auburn, Maine. She was predeceased by a brother Clyde A. Davis Jr., a sister, Jean B. Butler, and a great granddaughter Hannah Lynn Dykeman. She is survived by four children, one son Richard A. Bickford and his wife Lorraine of Crawfordville, FL., three daughters, Judi A. Ryerson and her husband Richard of Brunswick, Maine, Sandi B. Hostetler of Chester Springs, PA. and Lynndel R. Buzzell and her husband Larry of Baldwinsville, NY.; two sisters Mary Tyler of Danville, Maine and Janice Conant of Windham, Maine; four step children Nancy Hildreth of Milford, N.H., Nelson Patterson of Narragansett, RI., Neil Patterson of Yorktown, VA. and Natalie Wilder of Woodstock, GA.; nine grandchildren Heather Dykeman of Saco, Maine, Heidi Wright of Chatham, MA., Susan Ruel of Wales, Maine, Greg Bickford of Crawfordville, FL., Chris Bickford of Crawfordville, FL., Sheri Huang of Wauwatosa, WI., Scott Buzzell of Baldwinsville, NY., Pamela Beiler of Reading, PA. and Tara Karleen of Birdsboro, PA.; fourteen step grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and sixteen step great grandchildren; and also by many nieces and nephews. NOTICE Patterson- Died in Nashua, N.H. on Friday June 25, 2010. Mrs. Ruth I. Patterson age 90 a resident of Hollis, N.H. and formerly of Auburn. A Memorial Service honoring Ruth's life will be celebrated on Tuesday July 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM from the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son in Auburn.
