Sandra Pauline Hanson, 79, passed away on June 8, 2026. Born on October 15, 1946, in Lewiston, Sandra lived a life marked by steady devotion to others, quiet strength, and a generosity of spirit that was felt most deeply by those who knew her well.
Sandra attended Edward Little High School and, in her early years, entered religious life, becoming a nun and serving in the convent for seven years. During that time, she pursued her calling to care for others through nursing, attending St. Mary’s School of Nursing and graduating in 1971. With patience, compassion, and a steadfast work ethic, she went on to follow her passion for nursing—bringing thoughtful attention and gentle reassurance to the people who depended on her care.
Beyond her professional life, Sandra expressed her creativity through photography, painting, and free-hand drawing. She also found joy in music, playing both the accordion and the guitar. In these interests, her quiet sense of adventure and her attentive, reflective nature shone through—an honest appreciation for beauty, learning, and the simple richness of everyday moments.
Sandra was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Ronald; and her sister-in-law, Pauline Boilard. She is survived by her two brothers, Robert Beauregard and Roger Beauregard (Janice), and she also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews and a step-daughter.
Sandra was incredibly close to her mother and was lucky enough to be there for her during the last moments of her life—an enduring reflection of the selfless devotion that shaped Sandra’s own days and the care she so freely gave.
