Sandra “Sandy” of Lewiston, Maine.
It is with great sadness we announce that our beautiful mother has been called home to heaven and received her well-deserved angel wings. Sandy had courageously battled cancer for well over a year. Always demonstrating determination, strength, perseverance while never losing faith.
Sandy, was first and foremost a loving mother to her four daughters, Sandra Luna (spouse Jason), Lisa Gregoire (spouse Scott), Amy Bonilla, Briana Gagnon (spouse Ethan) and loving grandmother to Carter Gregoire. Predeceased by parents Maurice and Shirley Mailloux. In addition to her children Sandy is survived by her siblings Diane (spouse Mark), Barbara, Raymond (spouse Bobbi), Michael (spouse Peggy) and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sandy was many things to many people but only four were lucky enough to call her mom. Raising her children was her pride and joy. We will continue to carry on her extraordinary legacy.
Sandy loved to entertain family and friends. She would be the life of the party at any gathering and you may have been lucky enough to catch her singing one of her favorite songs. Sandy always had a love for music. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved animals, watching her favorite tv shows, shopping, joking and most importantly spending time with her family.
Sandy dedicated her life as a health care professional. Starting out as a CNA and then furthered her career as a surgical tech. Sandy later pursued her passion and became a Registered Nurse, all while raising her four girls. Sandy worked 27 years in the operating room at St. Mary’s Hospital where she was given the nickname “Sandy Pants”. Her nurturing demeanor and compassion made her the perfect nurse. Sandy was known for bringing a sense of calm and a smile to her patients. St. Mary’s OR staff had become a second family where lifelong friendships were created.
Sandy’s smile, her contagious laugh and the joy she brought to her family and friends will be incredibly missed. She will continue to guide and love us forever. Her loving spirit is carried on by her daughters.
