Simone Ouellette Dionne, age 89, of 200 Stetson Road, Auburn, passed away Monday, June 29, 2015 at Hospice House after a few months of declining health. She was born in Keegan, Maine on August 28, 1925 the oldest child of late Archille Ouellette and Emily Clavette Ouellette. After her father’s death when she was just seven years old, her mom married Alphie Martin and Simone and her sister became part of an extended family. They moved to Lewiston when she was a teenager. On May 1, 1948 she married her true love Maurice (Clarence) Dionne and together they made their home in Lewiston and raised their family. Maurice passed away on November 8, 1993 after 45 years of marriage. She later reconnected with a family friend, Rosaire (Doc) Bouchard, and enjoyed his companionship for 17 years until his passing in 2013. She was an active member of Holy Cross Parish. Simone was employed at Raytheon and then later at Knapp Shoe until her retirement in 1990. In her earlier years she enjoyed cooking and baking for her family (especially her chocolate cake), hosting the holidays and most of all spending time with her family. She made many friends while at Schooner and enjoyed participating in most activities especially her weekly games of cribbage, dominoes and bingo. The family extends their gratitude to the staff and friends at Schooner Estates, especially Katelyn with her support the past few months; Dr. David Abisalih, whom she trusted and could make her do anything she was supposed to; and the caring staff at Hospice House.
