SABATTUS- Steven D. Robitaille, born on March 22, 1977, in Lewiston, Maine, United States, passed away unexpectedly at home with his family by his side on May 21, 2024. Steven attended Lewiston High School and graduated in 1995. Following graduation Steve joined a magazine crew and traveled the country. He prided himself in knowing that he had visited every state in the Continental U.S.. He went on to establish SDR Co. and loved working on the road with his friends.
Steven was the beloved son of Dolores and Robert Robitaille of Lewiston and fiancé of Heather Marsh of Sabattus. Steven is survived by his sister Stacey Chase of Sabattus, and her husband Kevin. His Brother Scott Robitaille of Auburn. His grandparents, Don and Jeannine Robitaille of Lewiston and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephew. He was a loving father to his son Aidan Robitaille who was Stevens pride and joy. He was very involved in his son’s life. His favorite past time was watching Aidan play hockey. He was so proud of his backyard rink that he built, not only for his son, but for his son’s friends as well. Steven was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan. He was working on taking his son to every NHL rink in the country. They made it to 17 out of 32.
There were sides of Steve that not too many people got to see. Steve enjoyed getting dressed up to take Heather on "date nights" often attending his favorite opera singer, Andrea Bocelli's" concerts in Boston, Steve’s favorite city. He loved to stay at home and watch his favorite movie, Les Mis, smiling and singing every song at the top of his lungs. He loved the beautiful roadside scenery, often stopping to take pictures on the side of the road. Steve was a family man, writing poems to his loved ones letting them know how much he cared.
Steven will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and dedication to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Although Steven’s life was cut short, he lived life to the fullest with his "go big or go home" attitude. Steve was all about the kids. Well he was actually just a big kid himself. Steve lived by his word, dedication and loyalty to friends and family. Steve would give the shirt off his back and has helped so many in need. From 3 on 3 hockey tournaments for charity, to the biggest ever egg hunts for the whole community. Gone too young. The world is missing a great man, a son, father and a great friend. You now are wearing those “Detroit Red Wings“ you were always so proud to represent. Rest easy Red Wing. Until we meet again.
Steven was predeceased by his aunt, Nicole Lagasse and his grandparents Roger and Giselle Lagasse of Lewiston.
