Theresa S. Moore

LEWISTON – Theresa S. Moore, 85, of Lewiston, ME, passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, October 12, in Lewiston surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 12, 1931, in Concord, NH, to her parents Eva and Alexander Soucy where she attended Concord schools. In 1947, she married beloved husband, Marcel Moore of Lewiston, and relocated to Lewiston for the rest of her very happy and active life.

Career entrepreneurs, Theresa and her husband owned and operated Marcel Motors on Lisbon St. for 20 years, and were partial owners of the Maine Nordiques NAHL hockey team. They then owned and operated Moore Self Storage on Lisbon St. for 22 years, and continued to own commercial real estate.

Theresa was an avid golfer and had success in many member-guest tournaments at Martindale Country Club. She loved traveling throughout Maine with her friends to play many different courses as part of a state-day league. She was a long-standing member of the Elks. She also spent time with her friends bowling in leagues and playing cards. Marcel and Theresa maintained a large group of close friends that spent time with them in Lewiston, and winter months in Daytona Beach, FL.

Theresa loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had the privilege of attending the weddings of two of her grandchildren in recent months, where she and Marcel spent time on the dance floor.

Theresa was predeceased by her son, Philip Joseph Moore. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years. She is also survived by her children Dennis and his wife Christine of Auburn, ME; David of Lewiston; France Mann of Portland, ME; and Theresa and husband Tony Pare of Scituate, MA; her sisters Jeannette Wallace of Concord, NH and Lorraine Tavella of Norwalk CT; and brothers Ray Soucy of Pembroke, NH and Richard Soucy of Corinth, TX. Also survived by grandchildren, Rev. Dan Goulet of Columbia, MD; Tom Rivard of London, UK; Jessica and Adam Bean of Portland; Michelle and Zachary Black of South Portland; Matthew and Molly Pare of South Boston, MA; Courtney Pare and Brigitte Pare of Scituate, MA; and Alex Mann of Portland, ME. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Blake, Travis, Margo and Simon.

A Mass of Christian Burial honoring Theresa’s life will be celebrated 11:00AM Monday October 17th at Holy Cross Church.

Committal prayers to follow at St. Peter’s Mausoleum Chapel of the Rosary.
