Therese E. Gardner

Lewiston- Therese E. Gardner,89, of Baird Avenue, died Friday morning December 28, 2007 at her home after a short illness. Born in St. Victor P.Q. Canada, on August 11, 1918 the daughter of the late Alfred and Marianne (Gilbert) Poulin. She was a graduate of Pelletier's Hair School in 1939. She spent the next fifty years first working at Cinderella's Beauty Shop on Park St. and then at Therese's Beauty Salon until her retirement as a professional hair dresser. On October 15, 1949 she married Alphonse Gardner at Sts Peter and Paul Church and he predeceased her on October 1, 1978. She was a member of Holy Cross Church and Holy Cross Senior Citizens, the Ladies Auxiliary of both Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post # 153 where her husband was Past Commander. Also a member of Survience Francaise, she was past Snowshoe Club Winter Queen, and for over seventeen years she volunteered at Holy Cross School as a cafeteria aid. She is survived by one son Maurice R. Gardner DPM of Lewiston, one daughter Linda Langley and her husband Glenn of Lewiston, two grandchildren Gregory Langley of Lewiston, Jamie Campbell and her husband Mike of North Hollywood, CA one great grandchild Kenzie Langley " her little angel", a close niece Jacqueline Lebrun, a Godson Richard Poulin, many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by one sister Bernadette Mathieu, four brothers Gerard, Lionel, Arthur and John Poulin. A special thank you to Dr. William Lee for twenty seven years of care.
