AUBURN — Vivian (Vicky) J. Delcourt , 95, of 440 Minot Ave., Auburn, died on March 28th, 2023 at Clover Manor Health Care Facility surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born in Lewiston, on February 11, 1928, the third of six daughters and 2 sons of the late Lucien and Alvine (Landry) Rancourt and had been a resident of this community all of her life. She attended Holy Cross Grammer School and Lewiston High School. She married Raymond G. Delcourt June 25, 1949 and in 1950 started growing their family to eventually include 3 boys.
She was employed for many years at Benoit’s Clothing Store doing clothing alterations. Later, she attended night school to become a tailor. After retiring from Benoit’s she continued doing alterations from her home for a number of years. Vivian enjoyed her days by keeping her house immaculate, her boys in line, cooking, sewing, crocheting, knitting and making her husband, Ray, business suits. She also enjoyed playing the piano, dancing, cooking/baking, reading, and traveling, but mostly entertaining her family and friends, especially holiday events at her home where her meals were the envy of all who attended. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and friend. She always put others first and was always there with a hand extended out to anyone who needed help. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She was a member of The Ladies of St. Anne Sodality and a parishioner of Holy Family Church.
She is survived by one brother, Maurice Rancourt of Florida, and one sister, Lorraine Belanger of Lewiston; two sons and a daughter in law: Donald Delcourt of Michigan, Tom Delcourt and his wife Anne of New York and Estelle Delcourt of Lewiston. Five grandchildren, Kyle Delcourt of Michigan, Nicole Delcourt of New Hampshire, Michelle Delcourt-Lindquist and husband Kevin of Connecticut, Jennifer Delcourt of North Carolina and David Delcourt of Alaska as well as 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son Michel Delcourt, sisters Jacqueline Lafayette, Irene Thibodeau, Gertrude Lang and Constance Limoseth, one brother, Robert Rancourt.
Vivian’s family would like to thank the staff at Clover Health Care and Androscoggin Hospice for the wonderful care she received.
