
AUBURN- William G. Blackwood, 58, of Montello St., Lewiston passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 15, 2009 at the Hospice House in Auburn with his loving family by his side. His faith in God helped him to endure his battle with esophageal cancer. Born in Lewiston on October 5, 1951, he was the son of George D. and Constance M. Blackwood. Educated in local schools, he was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1970. He worked as a local contractor early in his career and owner of East Street Deli and presently, Deshaies' Lobster Salad. The loves of his life were his son, daughter and granddaughters. He enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends, running his business, interacting with his patrons and enjoying life in general. He was known as a kind and generous soul that never turned away anyone in need. Survivors include his parents; a daughter Heather Swart and her husband Sean and their two daughters Hannah and Ashley of Jacksonville, FL; a son Brent W. Blackwood of Lewiston; four sisters Lynne Adams and her husband William Ray Adams III, Debra A. Blackwood of San Antonio, TX, Bonnie J. Culberson and her husband Jack of Waverly, GA. and Cynthia J. Blackwood of Lewiston; a brother James A. Blackwood and his wife Sandra Needham-Blackwood of Auburn; an aunt Lida M. Muench of Lillian, AL; many nieces, nephews and cousins, especially Joshua W. Blackwood and Tara M. Adams who worked for him throughout the years. He is predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents and several aunts and uncles. NOTICE Blackwood- Died in Auburn Tuesday December 15, 2009. Mr. William G. "Bill" age 58 a resident of Lewiston. A Memorial service honoring William's life will be held on Saturday 11AM at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home. Spring Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery.
