

AUBURN - William G. Blodgett III, 53, passed away peacefully on December 19th at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice. He was born Dec. 25,1953, the son of William G. Blodgett and the late Marjorie Spears Blodgett of Augusta, Me. He graduated from Coney High School and Thomas College of Waterville with a degree in Accounting and went on to graduate from Gordon Cornwell Seminary with a Masters in Divinity degree. On June 28, 1986 he married Sheila Fuller Quimby of Auburn where they lived until moving to Richmond, Virginia in 1997. Bill was the Accountant and later Assistant Director of the Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine for twelve years. Bill moved to Richmond, V A to work with the Ministry to Eastern Europe, now called the Ministry to Educate and Equip (MTEE), serving as the Assistant Director for the ministry. During this time he had opportunity to travel to Budapest, Hungary for meetings and missions work. Bill had a love for the Lord, a Mission's heart and a wonderful sense of humor that gave him great strength. In March of this year Bill and Sheila returned to Maine to live and work and to be with family. He is survived by his father, William G. Blodgett of Augusta and his loving wife, partner and best friend Sheila and their three loving step-children, Christopher Quimby and wife Jennifer of Richmond, Va., Cassandra Culleton and husband Todd of Nashua, NH, Gregory Quimby and wife Jennifer of East Winthrop, Me. He has seven beautiful and devoted grandchildren; Mitchell Quimby, Kiersten, Alicia and Tyler Culleton, and Thomas, Jordan and Erin Quimby. Bill is predeceased by his sister, Carol Francis Blodgett and his mother, Marjorie Spears Blodgett. The family wishes to thank all the doctors of the Nephrology Associates of Central Maine especially his doctors of many years, Dr. Candice Walworth and Dr. Cynthia DeSoi. We also wish to thank all the staff of the Hospice House for their care and support during this time. BLODGETT died in Auburn, December 19, 2007, Mr. William G. Blodgett, III, age 53 years a resident of Auburn.A Celebration Life Service honoring Bill's life will be held SATURDAY 1:00PM at Trinity Episcopal Church in Lewiston with Pastors William Cutler and Pastor David Wood presiding.
