

Born in Portland Maine on October 13, 1943, he was the son of the late Christian Emile Deschenes and Emily DeNeill. He spent much of his life in a career of military service. He retired from the Marines, National Guard and Army Reserves. He received a letter of recognition for being a part of performing as a pallbearer of former Governor Grasso of Connecticut. Throughout his time with the military he was able to live in many places, he eventually settled down in Lewiston Maine with his wife Theresa Deschenes.
William spent a lot of time with his foster children and spent his free time enjoying activities such as bowling and going to concerts. He loved music and knew the bands and song titles well. He was also a dedicated Patriot’s fan.
William is survived by his loving companion Ernastine, his five children, Yvonne Rich and her husband, Eric; Yvette Frazier and her husband, Mark; Scott Deschenes; William Deschenes Jr. and his fiancee, Michelle Bernier; Steven E. Kneeland Sr. and wife Noelia. Grandchildren Clarissa Avila; Lindsey Boothby; Brittany and Husband, Dave Brown; Bryan Browning Clukey; Caitlyn and Christian Deschences; Steven P. Kneeland and wife Samantha; Richard Czarkowski; Briana Murico and husband Patrick. Great grandchildren Brooke and Auburn Avila; Devan, Ayden, Audrey and Jackson Brown; and Eillyenna Murico. He also leaves behind his brother Jon and his wife Barbara Deschenes and son in law Michael Czarkowski.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Theresa and his stepdaughter Barbara.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Ross Manor, Bangor Maine for the compassionate care he received during his final days.
Military honors and graveside services for William and Theresa will be held on Friday, August 14th at 9 am, Maine Veterans Cemetery, Blue Star Ave. Augusta Maine.
