

Yvette B. Carrier1916 - 2010 Lewiston- Yvette B. Carrier 93, of Seventh St. Auburn left this world to meet her Lord and be reunited with loved ones on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Central Maine Medical Center, after a sudden illness. She was born in Lewiston on March 1, 1916 a daughter of the late Amedee and Olivine (Richard) Kerouac. She was educated in local schools and later in life was proud in achieving her CNA certificate. She recently recounted her time of working long hours at Lepage's Bakery during World War II. Yvette married Camille E. Carrier on June 3, 1946 at Holy Family Church. Together they raised four children, ran a successful business, and enjoyed traveling. She will long be remembered by the now grown students from St.Louis school for the great meals that she prepared as head cook in the kitchen. Later she worked at Maison Marcotte Nursing Home as a CNA. She then went into business with her husband and helped run Carrier Detective Agency.Yvette had been a lifelong parishioner of St. Louis Church where she was a very active member. She was also a member and past president of the Ladies of St. Anne. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking cakes and loved family gatherings. Yvette was lovingly known as Memere by family and friends alike. She was very devoted to her faith and family and will continue to be loved and missed by all.She leaves two daughters Connie Duchette and her husband Larry of Portage Lake and Claudette Shea and her husband Tom of Auburn, a son Jerry Carrier of Auburn and his companion Jan Mayes , five grandchildren Kara Beth (Shea) Bryant and her husband Jayson, Jonathan Duchette and companion Ashley Young, Melissa (Carrier) McKenna and her husband Greg, Tina (Carrier) Thistlewaite and her husband Rich and Nathan Carrier and his wife Nikki, 3 great grandchildren Taylor, Sierra and Colin, a sister Annette Berube of Lewiston and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband on July 17, 1999, her son Roger on January 2, 2003, two sisters Emilienne Pinard and Cecile Belanger and a brother Lionel Kirouac.Visitation at The Fortin Group in Auburn on Thursday from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish at St. Louis Church Friday 11:00 Am. Committal St. Peter's Cemetery.
