Allen Jerry Singleton Shumpert, affectionately known as “Buck”, 76, was born March 1, 1946 in West Columbia, SC and passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022. He was a son of James Ardis Shumpert and Blanche Roof.
Mr. Shumpert was a hard worker who previously worked as a supervisor at a cotton mill. Allen attended Red Bank United Methodist Church, loved gardening, enjoyed fishing and being with his family.
He is survived by his sisters, Pearle Ethridge of West Columbia and Dorothy Blakely of Jonesboro, GA along with several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his wife, Betty Jean Shumpert; son, Allen Paul Shumpert; brothers, Joseph Shumpert and James Shumpert; sisters, Minnie Kireta, Elaine Shumpert, Marcella Jeffcoat, Barbara Ann Williamson, Emma Napier, Bernice Ochoa.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 3:30 P.M. at the Shumpert Family Cemetery.
