Anne was born on September 8, 1925, to the late Benjamin Tillman and Emmie S. Meetze. She married the late Lindsey W. Addy in 1947, and together they raised three children: Lindsey (Lin) W. Addy Jr., Barbara Addy Parker, and Alan M. Addy.
Anne grew up in Lexington, graduating from Lexington High School and later Draughon’s Business School. She also attended the University of South Carolina before beginning her career in public service. Anne dedicated more than two decades of her career to serving her community, working for the Lexington County Public Safety Department and the Lexington County Treasurer’s Office before retiring.
Faith was central to Anne’s life. A lifelong member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, she taught Sunday School, served on Church Council, and participated actively in WELCA, Leah Circle, and Prayer & Share. For 17 years she worked in the church office as Administrative Assistant, cheerfully welcoming members and faithfully supporting the ministry well into her 80s.
Anne was also devoted to her community beyond the church. She was a member of the Clemson FCL Club for 70 years, serving as its President for more than a decade. A passionate Clemson Tiger fan, she traveled far and wide to watch them play. She rarely missed a game on television or radio and was happiest cheering on her Tigers. Anne also enjoyed being a member of The Red Hat Society for many years.
Reaching her 100th birthday in September 2025 was a milestone that Anne embraced with joy and gratitude. She celebrated surrounded by family and friends at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, reflecting on a century of a life well lived.
Anne is survived by her brother, Ralph Meetze (Helena); her son, Lindsey (Lin) W. Addy; her daughter, Barbara Addy Parker (Mike) and their children, Benjamin Parker (Jen) and Chesson Parker Merritt (Patrick); and her son Alan M. Addy (Karen) and daughter Jamie. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Riley, Evans, Jordyn, Yasmeen, Layla, Nate, and Alex and many nieces and nephews. Anne was predeceased by her parents; her brother, James Meetze, her sister, Shelvie Schehr; and her infant sister, Roberta Meetze.
A service celebrating Anne’s life will be held at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1430 North Lake Drive, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with a graveside burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
