Arthur W. Sturkie Sr.

Arthur W. Sturkie, 83, of Lexington, SC passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025. Arthur was predeceased by parents, Rufus William Sturkie Sr. and Doris Hutchinson Sturkie; wife, Bennie Faye Sturkie; sisters, Judy Newton, Gail Breedlove, and Marie "Micky" Sturkie; brother, Rufus W Sturkie Jr.; and children, Arthur W. Sturkie Jr., Karen Lynn Sturkie, and Melissa Gail Sturkie.

Arthur served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a long time owner of Sturkie's Woodworks. He was a devoted husband and father, loved spending time fishing, doing carpentry work, updating his coin collection, the family cook, and being around his family.

Arthur is survived by his brother, Richard Sturkie; sister, Teresa Allen (Phil); daughter, Doris S. Horsley; grandchildren, Ashley Hayden (Chad), Amber Buckley (Jason), Arthur W. Sturkie III, Kristina Belger (Mark), Courtney Day (Shane), DJ Horsley, Jennifer Thurman (Brandin), Cody Sturkie (Kaitlyn), and Dalton Sturkie (Taylor); and great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Aaliyah, Paige, Kaitee, Aurora, Liam, Alex, Layla, Callie, and Mia.

The family will be accepting visitors from 4-6 PM on Friday, March 7th, 2025 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072. There will be no service. The family will have a private celebration of life following the visitation for family and friends at the Buckley residence.
