I was a classmate of Barbara in Junior High and Sarasota High School.  I did not know Barbara well, but if she was the animal advocate I am reading about I believe her to be a kindred spirit.   My condolences to the family for this special light in your lives.

Barbara is one of those people that gave so much to everyone she knew. I was lucky enough to have her as a friend for the last year, and unlucky that I did not meet her long before then. She was there for me during some really stressful times as a shoulder to cry on and a cheerleader to bring me up. I miss her so much, I will miss our chats about everything. I did not know she was so sick - that was her. She presented such a positive face to the world. Fly free Barbara, there will be so many rescue animals there to greet you at the Bridge.

May God comfort all those who are missing dear Barbara.  What a sweet lady with a heart for saving defenseless animals.

I know your family will miss your courage,  your strength of character and I hope and pray for them as they grieve the loss of one they love.

Barbara u were a wonderful lady, though I never met u in person I felt a connection as we both have so much love for the animals. I will miss seeing your posts and chatting with u. No more suffering my friend.

We met online because we both love cats, but we grew to know each other from sharing the other parts of our lives. I value our PM's and am glad you were a part of my life. You are missed greatly here on Earth..we never met here but I look forward to seeing you in Heaven when my time here too, is done.

We will all miss you Barbara.  I know you are having a joyous reunion with all of your loved ones who have gone before you, including the furbabies you fought so hard to help.

Barb, although we did not meet in person, I got to witness your passion for saving the lives of animals. Wherever you are, I am certain that you are still looking after the animals you love so much. You are dearly missed here, though.

So so sorry that you've so early in the Long Day that is Life, shuffled-off your Mortal Coil.  You will be greatly missed--never forgotten--and there will always be a seat waiting for you among your friends & colleagues, your furiends, fur-babies, & fur-fans, and your admirers. So sad and sorry to lose my friend and work buddy from the Columbia Farmers Market for those years. She was a joy to work with and a fun person to be around... she fought a good fight with courage and a very positive hope that she would beat this, and in a major tho sad way she has and she did! She will not be in pain or hurting and she can now have a new body to go with that spirit of hers!! My prayers and thoughts are with Cruz and the family, both in SC and in AZ......

I'm going to miss you so much grandma. I'm going to miss our talks and our memories. I love you with all my heart. Say hi to dad for me. ❤

Barbara was an amazing godly lady who had the sweetest spirit &  a heart of gold!! I'm sooo sorry &  we all will truly miss you, what a great loss, but I know your in heaven & they sure did gain an amazing lady. You loved deep. I'm so grateful to have known &  talked with you some on fb, we love u Barbara & you will truly be missed. You also helped so many of these kitties, u will be  missed by us all, you touched so many hearts &  lives, definitely mine. You were a fighter.

I will miss our late night chats, you were so special Barb, always there helping save the kitties, always there to listen when I discovered a new kitty virus, always there to give me peace when I would get so twisted because shelter cats always treated as less important than dogs. Sharing your life with me, talking about your kitties , your awesome house, rental property blues and joys, so many messages, I saved over 450. of them , So thankful I did as they are all I have left of us.
