Betty graduated from Lexington High School and the college of cosmetology. She worked as a cosmetologist for many years before working in the kindergarten program for Lexington County School District One, where she retired.
She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was devoted and served in many capacities.
Betty was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Edward Leon Corley, and her two brothers, Thomas Lee Kleckley and Harry Wyman Kleckley. Left behind to cherish her memory and to celebrate her life are her son, Douglas and daughter-in-law, Kris Somers, of Colorado; son, Reginald (Reggie), and daughter-in-law, Heather, of Lexington; and two grandchildren, Brandon and Lauren.
Betty loved her church, family, and friends and cherished the many gifts God gave her.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the love and care shown by the staff at Wellmore of Lexington, MSA Hospice, and Live Long Well Care.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary at Zion Lutheran Church, followed by visitation and fellowship in the church’s Family Life Center.
