DENMARK – Services for Billie Ruth Gibson, 75, will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church Denmark, with burial to follow in Bamberg County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at 10:00 am in the church fellowship hall. Mrs. Gibson passed away on Friday, June 1, 2012. Born in Laurel, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Bertha Smith of Laurel, Mississippi. She was happily married for 48 years to the late Jacob G. Gibson, first her high school bus driver and then sweetheart for life. She was a member of First Baptist Church Denmark and loved being a member of the Hostess Committee and serving others.
Surviving are her daughter, Karen (Sandy) Gibson of Lexington; her son, Jay (Beth) Gibson of Prosperity; 4 grandchildren, Seth, Victoria, Morgan and Jacob; 1 great-grandchild, Lillie Reese; 3 sisters, Kathleen, Juanita and Ernestine. Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Lena and Neva.
