Bonita built a life defined by steady purpose and quiet strength—marked by honesty that could be relied upon, wisdom offered without pretense, and a devotion to those she loved that never wavered. Through the years, her resilience and loyalty were evident not in grand declarations, but in the consistent way she showed up, worked hard, and gave of herself with generosity.
For more than forty years, Bonita served her community through her work with the USPS, including as past Post Master of Gaston, SC. Her long career reflected a deep sense of responsibility and pride in doing things the right way, day after day.
Bonita is survived by her husband of 63 years, William M. West, Sr.; her children, Wendy Lux (John) and Michael West; and her grandchildren, Lauren Lux Musgrove, Hayden Lux, and Riley West.
An avid Gamecock fan and a member of the Gamecock Club, Bonita found genuine enjoyment in supporting her team. She also loved traveling and especially cherished time spent on cruises—moments that brought both rest and delight.
