Cathy B. Arrowood, 60, was born February 4, 1966, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, and passed away on August 10, 2026. A longtime resident of West Columbia, South Carolina, Cathy will be remembered for the steady warmth she brought into every room—sweet in spirit, kind at heart, and unfailingly patient with the people she loved.
For more than 20 years, Cathy worked at South Carolina Oncology Associates, where her hard work and helpful nature spoke louder than any title ever could. She showed up with consistency, cared deeply, and offered the kind of quiet support that makes a workplace feel like a community. Her loving presence and friendly way left a lasting imprint on those who had the privilege of working alongside her.
Cathy lived by the simple reassurance she offered so freely: “Its going to be okay.” And when someone felt overwhelmed, she met them with calm certainty and a giving heart—“Don't worry about it, I'll take care of it.” Those words were more than sayings; they were the way she moved through life, always caring for others, always making room for peace.
She is survived by her mother, Fannie M. Williams; her brother, Joe Brown (April) and his children Ashton Beason and Alex Brown; her sister, Patsy Filkins (Gary); her aunts Gale Hughes and Carolyn Chavis; her uncle Clyde Aultman; and a very close friend, Robert Jeffcoat, along with loving nieces and nephews and many friends and extended family. Cathy was predeceased by her father, Joseph D. Brown.
The family would like to express heartfelt appreciation for all of the love and care from South Carolina Oncology, especially “Dr. Mu.”
