He was a lifelong Gamecock fan attending countless football games in addition to any other sport that could be found televised. He was a jack of all trades; nothing mechanical he couldn’t fix, no job too big for him to tackle. He was a drummer in many local bands over the years. Charles was always willing to help anyone that needed anything.
Charles was predeceased by one of his daughters, Whitney Michelle Asmer, and 2 brothers, Frederick Charles Asmer Sr and Albert Joseph Asmer Jr.
Charles is survived by his children, Melissa Asmer , Charles (Bubba) Anthony Asmer Jr. , and Rachael Brinkley (Vernon); grandchildren, Taylor Barton (Ethan), Braiden Cottrell, Charles Asmer Jr, Keri Goff, Kymberlee Goff, Lucy Goff, Eva Green, Raynebow Brinkley, James Brinkley; brothers Norman Asmer (Lisa), Anthony Asmer (Sarah), Peter Asmer (Yvonne), Johnny Asmer, his “mines own” sister, Christy Asmer Yarborough (Anita Harwell), 15 nieces and nephews, and friends that were just as much family to him.
His family was his most prized possession.
A celebration of his life will be held on January 18th from 1-3pm at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072.
