Charles was a United States Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam Crisis as a Search and Rescue diver. He retired from General Telephone and Electric in Tampa, FL. He was an active member of his church while he was physically able at First Calvary Baptist Church of Leesville, SC.
He was an avid fisherman and fished most of the coast of Florida and many of the Florida lakes. He also enjoyed working with his hands.
He is survived by his wife, Ginger L. Hutcheson, son Greg (Ginger) Hutcheson; three grandchildren, Michael Hutcheson, Brittany (Andy) Potts, and Kendall Hutcheson (Dillon Carter); and great-grandchildren, Ethan M., Gia, Maya, Elijah, Mason, Sawyer, Norah, Aurora and Ethan C.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Neal Hutcheson.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072.
