Charles M Moss

IRMO, SC – Memorial services for Charles Melford Moss, 86, will be held at North Rockdale Baptist Church, Conyers, Georgia on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Jim Sparacino officiating.

Born August 24, 1926 in Alpharetta, Georgia, he was a son of the late Zula Lee and Melford Grier Moss. Mr. Moss died Saturday, June 1, 2013. He was a long time, devoted member of North Rockdale Baptist Church.

His most precious moments in life were those spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

For 55 years he served in many positions with the Local 527-S and National Printing and Paper Products Union. He was dedicated to the labor movement and to improving the quality of life for all workers. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Philologia Lodge No. 178, Conyers, Georgia since 1977.

Surviving are his son, Larry (Jan) of Cartersville, Georgia; daughter, Jean (Andy) Marvin of Irmo, South Carolina; grandchildren, Matthew (Bethany) Marvin, Kristian (Nathan) Hayden, and Brandy (Kory) Jacobs; great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Rhodes Moss; brothers, J.C., Cecil and Thomas; sisters, Florence Holbrook, Geneva Hansard, Evelyn Steele, and Doris Dodd.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2 PM at the church. Memorials may be made to North Rockdale Baptist Church, 3130 Hwy 138 NE, Conyers, Georgia 30013.
