Charles Robert Taylor died on Monday, November 3, 2025, after a lifetime of serving God and God’s people. Charles was a hardworking man and did not retire until age 78. He loved his wife and family dearly. He was very easy-going and could get along with anyone. He enjoyed spending time with his old man group (as he called it) for regular breakfast dates in Winder, GA. He also enjoyed playing golf. He learned how to play as a young boy while he was a caddy. Charles enjoyed planting flowers for the porch and feeding the birds. He liked the challenge of solving small hand-held puzzles and playing Scrabble with Tommie.
Charles is survived by his loving family, including his devoted wife Tommie Haynes Taylor, Tami Matthews -daughter (David spouse) from Dawsonville, GA, and Tonya McLaughlin-daughter (Jamie spouse) from Cumming, GA. Peggy Ann Adcox-stepdaughter (Tad spouse) from Palm Bay, FL, and Charlene Timmie- stepdaughter (Jim spouse) from Nashville, TN, plus nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

The funeral home directing the service is Caughman-Harman Funeral Home-Lexington Chapel 503 N. Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Lexington United Methodist Church, 309 East Main St; Lexington, SC 29072, with visitation to follow in the parlor.
