My dear, sweet friend,  

When people come into your life, you never know what they're going to bring.  It was that way with you- my co-worker, then my teammate,  my ride or die buddy and my bestie.  We talked each other off the ledge so many times in our youth.  I loved you beyond words, and I still do to this day.  

I think about you so, so often.  I was overjoyed with the direction of your life before it was so abruptly cut short.  I wanted happiness for you, because you so deserved it.  You had no idea how beautiful you were- inside and out- nor how smart and wise you were when you were with us, but I hope you know now.  

I will never forget our times just sitting by the lake, eating snacks, drinking wine and analyzing life.  My life is better for having you in it.  I only wish we all still had you here to enjoy you more.  You always were authentic, which is a quality this world and most of the people in it could benefit from.  

Jeff and I talk about you often.  I hope you hear us and you know you're not forgotten and never will be.  

I love you, Cindy Maria Koon and I hope to see you again one day.

We became best friends in the 9th grade when we attended totem Junior High School in Federal Way Washington. We were locker partners we both were on the gymnastics team which took first place and went on to state, and as we said back then "we kicked butt". It was by far my most favorite year in school because of you. Cindy you changed my life you are the only friend I have ever had that accepted me and loved me for exactly who I was I have never met another person like you and I probably never will. You have the kindest heart. We found out at the end of the 9th grade that your family was moving to Harlingen Texas and at the time we had half a summer to spend together until you left and I remember spending every day and many nights until that final day. It was one of the hardest days in my life to watch you leave. We stayed in contact the best that we could High School got crazy for the both of us and then college and right out of high school I got pregnant and had a child and we lost touch until your mom reconnected us when you were a senior in college. And even though years had passed it was like time stood still. But yet again we lost contact until October 2012 when we reconnected on Facebook of all places and again it was like time stood still. We were planning on having me come to South Carolina in December over Christmas so I can meet your family. I was so excited to see you. Your life ended in a tragic way and you did not deserve it. You are with God now and your mom and I bet you are God's favorite angel. My love goes out to your children and your family. I'm sure your children are wonderful loving caring human beings because you are their mother. Rest in peace my dear friend Cindy I will see you soon.

Happy birthday Cindy.   We will never forget you.

I sure have been thinking about you...you are an angel with wings. I will always remember your loving smile and kind words.

So sorry for your loss.  I worked with Cindy's mother, Charlotte, in Pensacola FL years ago.  She spoke of her family often, very lovingly.   Charlotte and Cindy are together again.
