He served our country and retired from the United States Army. He was a member of the VFW of Lexington and a lifetime member of the NRA. He served as a police officer with the town of Lexington and the city of Columbia. He loved animals of all kinds.
Surviving are his brother, Corbett Johnny Hayes of Spartanburg; good friend and caregivers, Robert Pound, Mikey Wiggins and Amanda Jackson and numerous cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, with interment in Boiling Springs United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boiling Springs United Methodist Church, 2373 Calks Ferry Road, Lexington, SC 29073.
