

Born September 15, 1941, she was a graduate of Dana High School and received her degree in Nursing from Spartanburg General Hospital School of Nursing. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of South Carolina in 1982. During her career, which spanned nearly fifty years, she worked in North Carolina, South Carolina, and California in ICU, Hospice, and Nuclear Medicine before retiring in 2010. Mrs. Emerson was well respected and admired for her incredible work ethic which was best noted by a lead physician who said, ”Connie is like the “energizer bunny”, no matter how heavy the workload, Connie keeps running.”
She leaves behind her two children, Stacie Emerson Bartlett (John), Anthony Todd Emerson (Lorena); her beloved grandchildren, Tripp Bartlett (Samantha), Chasen Howell (Adam), Reilly Anne Bartlett, Noah Bartlett, Bella Emerson and Sophia Emerson; two great grands, Hank Emerson Howell and Hallie Katherine Howell; sister Sarah Marshall Stafford (Bob); brothers, Bud Marshall and Doug Marshall; sister-in-law, Hedi Lee Webster, as well as many other nieces and nephews. Mrs. Emerson was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Benjamin Emerson; parents, Walter and Bernice Marshall and brother, James Marshall.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC with visitation one hour prior.
